I'm Back!

It's been years since I've used this blog and the reason is I've moved over to doing daily live videos on my Facebook Page, Crazy Tupperware Mom  I do live cooking on my page every weeknight while my family drives me nuts.

I am no longer teaching my free coupon classes since my business with Tupperware has blossomed over the past 2 years. I have a team of about 100 active members that span across the US. I have a New Car from Tupperware that I get to drive around for FREE. We recently got back from our free trip to Disney World. All earned incentives from this wonderful company.

I look forward to more adventures with Tupperware and quite honestly, I had no idea this is where I would end up in my career. It's sales so you've got the good times and the bad but what I love is that I am now in the drivers seat. I have no boss to tell me where to go or be at a certain time. I have full control of my schedule. I no longer need to request time off to take the kids to the doctor or dentist. I can have breakfast with my Mom and sister whenever I want. We can spend the day watching movies if we choose to while I work on the side. It's just really nice to have that flexibility.

I look forward to see where this opportunity will take me in the next few years cause it's been very eye opening and just a wonderful experience so far!

Happy New Year!

1/7/2017

Welcome 2017! I am starting off this new year as a brand new Director with Tupperware! What an amazing journey it has been. I also QUIT MY FULL TIME JOB and am now a Stay at Home Mom who does Tupperware to supplement our families income. It's taking some getting used to as its only been 2 weeks but boy what a weight off my shoulders!

Everyone has their stories. I got married at 18 and had my first child at 19. My husband went active duty and while balancing all that I was going to school and working at the same time. For the past 21 years of my life I made huge sacrifices with trying to do "what was right" all the while putting school and a career before my family. It was how I was raised. I was raised to believe that getting a degree would be the cure all and answer to all financial woes. I will say that having a degree helps in finding a job but at the cost of being a mom. It's difficult trying to balance being out of the home for 10-12 hours a day in order to earn money and find trustworty care while you work outside the home. My mom worked and my grandparents were no longer around to help.

Not everyone has the leisure to be able to have 1 parent stay home while 1 works outside the home and this rings especially true in Hawaii where a gallon of milk is about $5-$6 and a dozen eggs is $3.  I was offered home based business 20 years ago with Shaklee and Melaleuca. Both I turned down because it's not the "traditional" method or path of what we're supposed to do. Everyone has a path and I believe everything happens for a reason.

Over the past 21 years of my career, I will say that I have NEVER had a job that recognized me as much as Tupperware does. I also have never enjoyed what I did until now. Working for Honeywell I had great perks which included travel and getting to work for a huge company and meeting lots of people. But, the job came with its stressors too. I was paid well but NOT as well as what I get paid by Tupperware based on how hard I worked. I could work for any company and bust my buns and put in extra work but my pay would remain the same. With Tupperware, I bust my buns and put in the work and holy heck, my paycheck GOES UP! I have full control over what I want to earn, when I want to promote, and the perks I earn. I've NEVER had this much control at any job I've had in the past.

The last job I had, I only had for a year. I made the decision to quit when I found out I got pregnant with my 4th child. My boss said, I don't know what's different now from the last 3 times you got pregnant that now you have to quit. Cause I never quit before. I took my leave and went right back.  The difference is NOW I have an option. Did I love my jobs in the past? I liked some but never loved it. I stayed with Honeywell because they offered awesome benefits and at the time the job was not too stressful. I quit because it became VERY stressful to be in the office and the traffic from the West side of Oahu to Honolulu was getting worse every year. Every day I prayed that I would find an opportunity that would let me work from home because that company would not allow it although I was fully capable to do my job from anywhere in the world wtih an internet connection.

I was offered the Tupperware opportunity 3 years ago. I started for simply the discount and then learned how much I could make. After 2  years I wanted more. I saw how other people were doing the business and wanted to know how they were doing it. With training and guidance, I soon promoted from a Manage to Star Manager, then Executive Manager, then Director. That all happened literally in 10 months. I could not believe it. I made a dream board and so far have reached 2 of the goals on that board in those 10 months. One of them was to own a boat. And we bought the exact boat we had on the dream board in 10 months.

A lot can happen when you set a goal, draft a plan, and go for it. I'm thankful for the opportunity that Tupperware has offered me and more thankful that I can be a full time mom and actually be there this time for these 2 younger children. I learned from my past experiences and am going to do things differently this time. Will it be easier? Probably not. But until I do it, how will I really know?

If I keep doing what I've always done, I'll always have what I've always got.

Here's to CHANGE!

Director In Qualification with Tupperware

11/3/2016

I have very little time to blog with my focus now being with growing a great team with Tupperware. I currently have 19 consultants on my team and they are lighting things up here on the island. We're partying every week and this the most fun job I've ever had in my 20 year career.

Corporate jobs are great with the steady and secure income but the work is mundane, stressful, and you have to complete tasks requested by a "boss" (sometimes MORE THAN ONE) all day long. With Tupperware, I have regained control of my life, my time, and most importantly, my sanity.

At the end of this year I have made the decision to no longer work for someone else and quit working full time in an office. I will now be working for myself. I still have to set my office hours and schedule but now, the person running the show is ME!

I get to pick when and how hard I want to work which directly equates to how much money I will earn each week. See, when you work for someone else at a flat rate, they could dump a roll off of work on you and you still make the same amount of money.

When you work for yourself with Tupperware, the harder you work means you earn more money. Some people may disagree with that statement but it is all in the training and coaching.  It's all about the grooming.

I have finally made the commitment to myself and my team and "checked the box" to become a Director with Tupperware. In March this year I had a nice talk with our Business Leader and I set this goal for myself. It took a few months to get the ball rolling and after attending my very first Jubilee in Orlando this past August, the fire was lit. Next step was to create a plan of action. My team, my upline, my business leader, and other consultants all over the US were extremely supportive and I could not have picked a better company to choose to work for.

In January of this year I was dabbling in Doterra, Thirty One, Nomades, Tupperware, doing Notary work, teaching free Coupon classes to the community, AND doing reviews for Amazon suppliers. I was spread pretty thin and not excelling in any one of those businesses. In March of this year I let go of everything except Tupperware and chose to point my focus in just one direction.  It was the best decision I ever made.

At the time I was only 6 months into my new full time job. I left my prior job after 8 years to work closer to home. I took a pay cut to do so and Tupperware was able to fill that gap. It was then that our Business Leaders moved here and paved the way to help build our organization here in Hawaii. The training they provided us, the guidance, and the support made a tremendous difference in my business and my team growth.

I had set a goal back then to be able to quit my job and work from HOME because I could not stand the traffic here in Hawaii anymore and I wanted to have more control over my time. At the time I thought it would be IMPOSSIBLE. Who does that?? Stay at home moms? I mean, who actually makes a real business out of selling Tupperware?  Well, in the months that have passed, my eyes were open and here I am today.

Tupperware is not about selling plastic bowls. The product and company has been around for nearly 70 years. The name and brand sells itself. What I sell is techniques on how working moms (like me, currently) who never have time to cook, to put a meal on the table in about 30 minutes without having to babysit the stove. I sell ways that people can save money by storing food properly (especially produce! Strawberries here are $6 a basket!). I sell methods of incorporating your kids into the kitchen to teach them how to cook and spend time off of those gadgets and with mom and dad.

No one has time to sit down and have a meal anymore. I hope to be able to bring that back, one family at a time.

Next stop, DIRECTORSHIP AND THAT FREE CAR!!!

Our impromptu mini staycation

5/2/2016

This weekend was a very RARE occurrence and did not happen with any plans set up.

My mom and I started with a Tupperware close out sale from 8 to noon. We were supposed to then go to Aiea to pick up some Tupperware parts from an older woman who lives in Aiea. Then head to a Tupperware party in Honolulu.

Jody was off and she and Jayziel came over to hang out during the sale. When she's off, she refuses to stay home and be a vampire. So she asked what we were all doing.

The party cancelled. We packed up at noon. And Romel had a picnic at the Hale Koa Hotel to meet up with fellow Wolfhounds. Since Jody NEVER goes to the beach and Mom didn't have anything planned but our party, we all followed each other to Waikiki.

The kids got to play on the playground, walk the beach and get a little sun, see some turtles, and then we saw the traffic. It was about 2:30 pm.

Our cars were in the Ft. Derussy lot and the traffic was CRAZY compliments of the Annual Spam Jam.

I called Hale Koa to see if they had rooms. ALL BOOKED. We checked the Hilton. Over $300 for one night. No thanks.

Stroke of luck Jody saw her friend Karen was in Waikiki and works at the Embassy Suites. She went out of her way during her OWN staycation to get us a spectacular room (2 bedroom suite) for a great price! Includes a reception w/ 2 drinks in the evening and FREE HOT FULLY LOADED breakfast the next morning for everyone. Free parking for one vehicle. etc etc.

Well, many of you know me to LIVE IT UP. We were in Wakiki. A 10 minute walk from Waikiki Beach.

We checked into the room, got settled, gave the kids a bath and rested a bit. Then we walked back to the park to help Romel wheel everything to the room. They were having movies at the park.

Saturday night, my mom, Shelby and Jody went to have a lovely birthday dinner with Karen and family for their son, Maddox's 5th birthday. I stayed back with Romel and Emily. We were all so tired.

Sunday morning up at the 6:30 am and ran down for breakfast. Then pool time. Then I decided at the last minute, Hey! let's do atlantis! Jody and Mom never been. Neither has Emily. Romel wanted to sleep. So I booked our seats, we walked down and it was a fabulous deep sea adventure!

We walked back at 3 and had an early dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise.

We then went back to the room, packed up, and checked out.

It was a great 2 day staycation in Waikiki. Jody paid for the room. We paid for Atlantis. Mom paid for our humongo cheeseburgers.

It was by no means a "cheap" weekend. But the time we got to spend with each other is priceless. And the kids got to enjoy it.

It was too bad the bigger kids didn't come.

This was not planned at all so we literally winged it. Even went to Ross to get some clothes and ABC for toothbrushes and toothpaste! LOL!

Honed Focus

4/27/2016

It's been pretty quiet around here at olipasinc.com and that's because I've decided to hone all my attention and focus towards mariaolipas.com which is my new Tupperware link and shopping site.

I still do coupon classes on a quarterly basis and am here to answer questions from those who have taken my classes or follow me online. I no longer do testing for Amazon suppliers and also no longer share or market essential oils. I continue to service my existing customer base and help supply them with oils and do share information with those who ask about it.

Ever since I decided to stop spreading myself so thin and invest more time in my new Tupperware business, the results have been amazing.  I still work full time from 9 to 5 and work on Tupperware on Saturdays and weeknights when available.

This is why I have slowed down my blogging.  Now that I have honed my focus on a smaller target, I now have more time for myself and more time to be better at one thing rather than average at everything.

I've learned to say No when necessary. I've learned to pick and choose more wisely on where I want to invest my time. And I've learned that taking a leap of faith is necessary to soar. If I keep doing what I've always been, I'll always get what I've always got. I have my business leader to thank for that moving statement.

Up, up, and away!

First Monthly Tupperware Fun Night

3/15/2016

Tonight was the inaugural Tupperware Fun Night at the Oahu Veterans Center. We had an AWESOME turnout!

Many were existing consultants and we had a handful of guests too.  There was lots of food to be had, BINGO BINGO did I say BINGO? Guests got to choose a free prize from a special basket and consultants got raffle tickets that were drawn at the end of the night.  There was a live demo of our induction stove top compatible cookware, mandolin, and many other nifty gadgets. There was lots of information that was shared and recognition for sales and lots of laughter.

It started promptly at 6:30 pm and ended at about 8:30. On top of that, the hostess princess with the MOST GUESTS got a free prize. AND the hostess with the most outside orders for her party also got a prize.

This is serious people. Where else can you throw a 2 hour get together with your family n friends n co workers n neighbors, NOT clean a damn thing, not have to entertain them, and NOT CLEAN UP AFTER?

And all you had to bring was a bowl of chips and salsa. LMAO! The cheapest and shortest get together you ever did throw.

If you stepped on dog shit on your way in, you'd go home with the most free Tupperware in the room.
The next Fun Night is Monday April 11. Same time. Same place.
YOUR TURN!

My cup runneth over...

3/9/2016

It's been a while since I actually "wrote" anything. New job has been quite busy and my day is packed from the moment I walk in until I leave my desk. I don't have much down time, in fact, I have to set an alarm to remind me to stop to eat lunch and another to tell me to start shutting down to go home. Without those, I'd work the whole day and keep on going until the evening.

My mornings are now filled with time with little Emily who is now 4. I am LOVING my new and improved work schedule and job. I LOVE waking up at 7 am when the sun is already up and being able to take my time getting ready. I love that I get to spend one on one time with Emily. I get myself ready and help her get ready and then take her to her sitter by 8 am in time for breakfast with her friends.

I actually have time to put on some makeup and fix my hair. I can take some time to actually look through my closet and accessories to choose something to wear. When I leave the house, everyone on my street have been long gone and already on the grind for a good 2 or 3 hours already. Traffic is sometimes still backed up to Kunia but it doesn't matter to me. I take Kunia road to get to the office.

For the last 5 months, the only traffic I hit is near Schofield. You have NO IDEA how amazing that feels. I used to sit in ridiculous traffic for a minimum of 2.5 hours A DAY!!! I enjoy my short commute to work so much that I sing in the car. Yes, I sing. I get on my Smule Sing app and find someone to sing with and record a song or two. On my way home from work I do the same thing. It helps me relax and take my mind off of the stressful things in life.

During my work day, I check my phone periodically. My phone is on silent because I don't like being interrupted when I'm focused on a project. It's really nice to detach myself from the outside world for those 8 hours I'm there. I can tell you one thing, my life is definitely not boring.

When I'm not in the office, I'm at home pushing my Tupperware sales and business. Working to build my team. I attend meetings and trainings during the week after my regular job. I go to church twice a week. And attend the Lions Club meetings twice a month. The cherry on top is staying up till 1 am to write my Amazon reviews for the hundreds of suppliers that send me products to test for them.

Well, my cup is overflowing and I'm about to drop the bundles of sticks I carry in my arms. Recently, I have decided to reject the offers to test products unless it's something that I know our household needs or uses regularly (like battery packs for cell phones as an example). It pains me to deny them a test and review because the products are getting better and better every day. But it's unfair for me to accept their offers when I can't come through on my end of the deal to write an honest review (though not required). It's just a matter of keeping my word.

Wow, it feels good to write again....I mean, really write.  I forgot how therapeutic it is. The cool thing is I have all positive things to write about.

On that note...I'd like to send a special thank you to my family for always supporting me. My TupperTeam for helping raise me up and keep me up even when I feel like I should quit. My Mom for always being there when I need her and my husband for putting up with all the Tupperware in his face on the daily and my going to bed at 1 am because I gotta get stuff done. I hope to be in bed much earlier once I catch up on my review writing and the products stop coming.

Thanks for sticking with me...and thanks for visiting my blog and reading!

Luseta Beauty Products

Time has been flying by! It's been a while since I last blogged anything worthwhile because I have been extremely busy (what's new, right?).  For starters, I'm enjoying my new job. My new work hours are 9 to 5 and being able to sleep in with little Emily has been AWESOME! I schedule certain weeks where I go to the gym at 5 am with my older daughter, we get ready at the gym, and I drop her off at the bus stop to get to school. By the time I get home by 6:30, my husband is ready to go out the door and Emily is still sleeping while I can enjoy a healthy breakfast and coffee.

I love not feeling rushed anymore and even more importantly, I no longer have to deal with the horrific traffic to get to downtown. I now work 7 miles away from home. My office is about 2 miles away from Schofield Barracks where my husband works and I never have to touch the freeway unless absolutely necessary. Just those few changes in my schedule have lessened my stress and rejuvenated me.

As you know, I test many products for sellers on Amazon. One particular line I want to blog about today is Luseta Beauty. A few months ago they sent me a slew of their products. The ones I continue to use and truly enjoy are the Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner, the Argan Oil hair Masque, Dry Shampoo, Dry Conditioner, and  Macadamia Hair oil.

I am starting to grow my hair out and do suffer from white hair problems. I stopped going to the salon for chemical treatments. Instead, I use organic Henna to color my hair. I apply the henna in the morning, wrap my hair up and continue my day. I wash it out in the evening.

Since using Henna, my hair has changed from a brittle and frizzy mess to a much softer and smoother head of hair. Depending on how much I sweat (gym time, heavy activities), I try not to wash my hair with water more than 2 times a week. If I had a hard work out in the gym then I do wash my hair because that's just yucky.

However, on days where I've had a light day, I use the Luseta Dry Shampoo and Conditioner spray. I've been doing this for a few weeks now and every day I have been getting complimented on my hair and I was flattered because I didn't do much to it. I don't use hair spray.

Just this past weekend I got compliments on my hair being "on point" every day. It makes me feel great and I am happy with the changes.

At night after I shower, I  use the dry shampoo and lightly apply a few spritzes along the roots and then massage and brush it out. That helps to absorb any oils from my scalp. In the morning, after a quick flat iron to smooth out the bed head areas, I lightly spritz the dry conditioner on the ends and massage and brush through.

On the days that I do wash my hair, I use Luseta's Argan oil Shampoo and Argan Oil Conditioner. Once a week instead of using the conditioner, I use the Argan Oil Hair masque and I must say that the smell is fantastic and my hair is very soft, bouncy, and shiny after I use the masque. I do not blow dry unless absolutely necessary.

After a thorough washing and towel drying, I apply a very light amount of Luseta's Macadamia nut oil for hair. This too smells great and helps to keep my hair from frizzing. In Hawaii, the humidity kills my hair style. But with this light oil, it really helps keep my baby hairs in check.

I thought I'd share this here since a lot of people have been asking what I have done to my hair. This transition has been ongoing for about 4 months or so now. With Henna hair coloring, I don't think I'll be coloring my hair with chemicals ever again. And the only reason I'd go to my hair stylist is for a trim.

Thanks for visiting and reading!!

When It's Time

10/8/2015

After working at my job for the past 7 years, things started to become very hum drum. When you find that you can do your job in your sleep and it becomes mundane, you have a choice to stay where you are or "find new cheese". I opted to go out and find new cheese.

This time, as I ventured on the search for new cheese, things were different. I'm no longer a fresh college grad. I had over 20 years of experience tucked under my belt. Yes, my experience was chop suey and not all in one field, but it made me a very well rounded candidate.   This time, my search was not for more money. It was for more happiness and satisfaction. We spend 8+ hours a day at our jobs, shouldn't we enjoy being there and enjoy what we do?

If you live in Hawaii, then you know the horrifying ordeal of the traffic here. It has gotten progressively worse and will not improve for a long time. This time, when I decided to look for a new job, I dug my heels in and stuck very closely to what I learned in the PSI seminar I took over 20 years ago (thanks to an employer who knew the value of that seminar and paid for me to take it).

When I mapped out what I wanted for my future job, I made it very clear. I wasn't looking for just "a job". I was looking for specific details that made my goal much easier to achieve. The hardest part about reaching my goal was having patience. We all want to jump at the first opportunity that comes knocking but that's not always the answer you really want.

I made it a point to find a new job that was not far from home. A job that offered me something that was always challenging. A job that paid me enough to be able to continue to be a strong contributor to our household. I was not going to make a career move based solely on how much they were going to pay me. It was going to be because it was the job that fit all my requirements.

In about two months, I landed a job that is not only fun, challenging, and makes me feel good at the end of the day. Management is phenomenal. Can you imagine going home with a headache because you were LAUGHING all day? Right now, one of my goals is to help find more photographers to help build our arsenal of photos to print in calendars. Men of Hawaii and Las Vegas? Women of Hawaii and Las Vegas... yyyyyeah....

Now, I can get up at 7:00 am and ENJOY coffee and breakfast with my 3 year old. I have time to spend with her versus sitting in gridlock to get to the office. It takes me (at most) 15 minutes to get to work if I drive straight from home. Now that I start later, I do the drop offs in the morning. When I head into work in the morning the only stop I have to make to get to the office is at a stop sign as soon as I get off the freeway. My drives now do not have the word "traffic" associated with it.  My mornings do not start off on a bad foot because I hear how bad the morning traffic is. Because I don't have to drive in it.

I am in the office 8 hours a day. Yes, just 8. Not 9 with a one hour lunch. It takes me 15 minutes to get home after I get off of work and the only stop I make on my entire drive is at the stoplight in my subdivision.

It took some time to land this job. A job that feels like it was made for me. But I am so glad I'm here.

I reflect back on the events that helped move me to where I am now. Though not all pleasant, I realize now that if it were not for those unpleasantries, I would still be in the position I was two months ago just "existing".

There's a reason for everything. It didn't make sense to me at the time but it all makes sense to me now.

All I can say is, "Thank you, Father."
