It's so nice to have friends in very important places. I have had the opportunity to tour the new Santa Clara stadium during its construction and stood in the very center of the field. It was amazing! Some of my friends were able to visit it again a year later to see its progress and I wasn't able to fly up to SJC to be with them. But, they did send me pictures.
Tomorrow is the ribbon cutting and I wish I could be there with my girlfriend during the ceremony!
In the meantime, she sent me these and I wanted to share it with all of you. They removed the tattered flag at the top of the stadium today. The picture of the completed stadium took my breath away. The last time I saw it, it was just big cement slabs for each level with no chairs and a muddy mess for a "field". During our visit, the team was on the practice field next door. We were not allowed to take any photos of that. It was cool to be there and see them doing their thing! I've included a short clip of my visit to the stadium back in November of 2012.
