I'm thinking about our next family vacation for October 2015. I want a head start on building up our vacation fund.
So, where should we go? We can go ANYWHERE in the US. It has to be somewhere with activities for kids and sights to see. It CANNOT be in California or Las Vegas. I want to go somewhere further away from Hawaii where not very many people have the opportunity to visit. Suggestions please.
Here are some of my thoughts:
Orlando, FL - for obvious reasons. Disney World is one of them.
Texas (Galveston or wherever is the best to see) - because everythings bigger in Texas. I've always wanted to eat at a real texas roadhouse.
New York - because it's an amazing city and everyone has to see this place at least once before they die. And make the trek to see Niagara Falls
Chicago - because it sounds like a cool place to visit
Boston - cause Romels been there and I want to say the same
Virginia - cause it's different
I think I'm going to buy a nice big map of the US so I can start pinning spots we'd like to see and why. Each family member has to contribute their thoughts and ideas. If we can't make a decision. We'll take the top 5 locations (that fit into our budget, of course), put it in a hat, and pull out the winning destination.
We are truly blessed to even have the opportunity to do this. Draw a location out of a hat and GO see it. Timeshare ownership has given us many benefits to travel. Not only do we always have a place to stay with our family in any location in the world, owning a timeshare forces us to take a vacation every year. Everyone deserves a "reset".
So, your input please. Give me a location and why we should go there. I'll add it to my Olipas Destination 2015 map.
Mahalo!!

In regards to timeshares:
First off, are we the youngest time share owners people have ever seen? Every single time we check in they always tell us we look way too young to be owners.
When we go on vacation, we NEVER stay in a hotel. We stay in fully equipped 2 bedroom condos. It's literally a home away from home. THAT is a real vacation. Where you can get up in the morning, make a full pot of GOOD coffee. Have some eggs and toast in the comfort of your dining room while the fireplace burns under the plasma tv in the living room. Feel like ice cream at midnight? Go to your freezer in the kitchen, and get that Haagen Daaz you bought the other day. Ate out and have leftovers? No problem, just take it home and throw it in the fridge. Heat it up tomorrow.
Feel like baking? Sure, the kitchen is completely stocked with bakeware, measuring tools, and a mixer or blender. Then, you do all your laundry before you pack. That way, when you get home, all you do is unpack and put all your clean clothes away.
