My total before coupons was $240.82. After coupons = $189.42!!! The surcharge kills me at the commissaries. But, the overall cost of the entire trip helped heal the sting of that surcharge.
I list what coupons I use and where I got them from. If I know its no longer available, I will put NLA in my breakdown. I don't have time to check coupons.com daily to know what's there and what isn't. So, it's really important to print the coupons you see when you see them. Because they WILL disappear after it hits so many prints.
Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of this blog for some commissary shopping tips!

The commissary uses digital price labels now. No more bright yellow stickers on the shelves. When shopping, look for a blinking red/pink bar on the left hand side. That means SALE! Not all sales will have tags hanging off the shelf to let you know about them.
Check the dented goods area. You'll sometimes find some nice deals there.
Commissaries have lots of tear pad coupons, these are STILL manufacturer coupons and NOT stackable. If you have a coupon on you that has similar savings to what you see on the tearpad, read the fine print. My kettle chip coupon $1/2 had no size restriction. The tearpad on the shelf did.
There's always a markdown meat section at the commissary. Don't forget to check there for more deals.
