Talk story session 2 - Reflections
This week, we went more in depth with our discussion which was very eye opening and humbling. I will not go into detail as it is a “safe zone” and whatever is shared is kept confidential within the group. I will share that it was truly edifying. You know how people say, “everyone has a story”? Well, it’s true. And if you’re story is great, it’s worth telling. That is what motivates me to write and blog. Yes, I said write.
I have begun writing my autobiography. My intention is to journalize my life as I remember it. I’m writing it because one day, when I grow old, my memory will diminish and I don’t want to forget the experiences I’ve had or the memories I’ve made. Not just the good, but the bad too. Why remember the bad? Because, everything I have gone through in my life has brought me to where I am today. I don’t want to forget that and I want my children, and my childrens children to learn from what I have experienced.
By putting my memories down on paper, it can be saved for many years and generations to come. And its all from my perspective. Whoever else reads it who may have been on the other side of the fence will have an eye opening view of what it FELT like to be in my shoes regardless if they agree to it or not. It is what it is. Are you ready to log your story? Write a blog, keep a journal. It’s amazing how good it feels to put it on paper and reflect back on it. Try it.
