I earned this $189 Modular Mates Super Set for FREE by hosting a Tupperware Party. This came with 10 large containers. I buy a lot of pasta. It has a long shelf life and I get it for free using coupons. I used my large oval container to hold all my spaghetti. Tupperware makes a container specific to spaghetti that includes a small insert that allows you to pull out your noodles measured by 1 or 2 servings. As you can see, if I were to use that, I’d need multitudes of those containers.
I used the other modular mates to hold the rest of my pasta and separated them by shape. I’ve got elbow and twisted elbows in one. I mixed mine because we’re not picky. If you want to keep them separated, just use one of the empty boxes as a separator. We store penne in another.
Pre-tupperware, we had to move around a crapload of boxes to get to the item we wanted near the back of the shelf. Now, we just need to move a few stacked containers and we can easily access what we need.
I have a 1000 watt microwave. For 3 servings of pasta, I cook it for about 10 minutes in the microwave and let it sit for a minute or two. The noodles will continue to cook in the hot water. NOTE!!! Leave the COVER OFF in the microwave or it will boil over.
Although the lip to grab the container is somewhat cool, use pot holders to remove the pasta maker. The water is extremely hot and one little tipsy turvy and you’ve got piping hot water sloshing all over your kitchen as you awkwardly try to jet your way to the sink. This is where you need the cover. Place the cover on the pasta maker. Hold down and tip to drain. There are holes on one side of the maker to allow you to drain your pasta well. Shake the excess water and you’re ready to go! The pasta maker can cook up to 5 servings of pasta at a time.
Did I mention how much I love Tupperware?
